CHINESE DOCUMENT LAMPS

Old Chinese documents are extremely colorful and varied. The calligraphy featured in my lamps is an art dating back thousands of years, and one does not have to know Chinese to appreciate its beauty. Calligraphy, in essence, is an abstract art.

The types of documents used are bank drafts, land deeds, rent receipts or currency, to name a few, and focus exclusively on early 20th century papers.  Lighting them enhances the exquisite calligraphy and highlights the beautiful stamps, chops and colors. Low wattage light not only renders them magical, but it is a way of keeping history alive and relevant.
